My dream
My dream is in line with a belief that 'Good Health is source of Wealth'. Thus, my dream is to become a successful Public Health Specialist by combining the knowledge I will acquire from my MSc MPH course with over ten years of work experience I have acquired in implementing numerous community-based health programs to attain a high standard of personal and family health and contribute to better health of many underprivileged communities in Uganda, Africa and beyond.
Family
Denis Nuwagaba, 38 years is the seventh child of 12 children 9 boys and 3 girls by the same father and mother still alive now in their 70s. Being born many children, we prefer to call our selves a 'football team' from a peasant/rural farmers family our chances of education met with many financial difficulties. Thanks to our parents determination and big dream, they overcame all the challenges to see all of us through school (9 degrees) and (3 diplomas). Denis is married to Olivia Asiimwe and have two beautiful and very active girls Deviah (5 years) and Daniela (1year).Deviah is going to her middle pre-school class and Daniela is anxiously repeating all the big sister does at school in preparation for the same.
Music
I like a mix of reggae music by Bobby Marry. Some European and American Music by artist and stars like Micheal Bolton, the late Micheal Jackson, Maria Curry, R-Kelly, Phil Collins and I find country music by Ken Rogers soothing and inspiring. Am not so much a movie person but I like most movies by IDI Murphy especially 'Coming to America'.
Associations
Am a committee member of Uganda NGO Malaria and Childhood Illnesses Secretariat (MACIS) whose goal is to reduce morbidity and mortality of mothers and children due to preventable and treatable diseases like malaria through working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and a network of NGOs and Community-Based Organizations to harmonize approaches, pool resources and expertize to put to scale effective interventions to have a greater impact.
Interests
My hobbies include making friend from all over the world, listening to and watching music, relaxing with my friends and family at beaches, watching drama, reading newspapers and magazines and watching international news to keep abreast with what is happening in the world. I love keeping dogs and I enjoy company of my dog called Bobby after work.
