My dream
I have a dream! I want to see that my village is first of all transformed, and the youth realize that education is so important. I would like to be a good example, that you can begin with nothing and end up with something bigger than your dream! That is being a national leader, of Obama's caliber. I want a peaceful world, with no guns and bombs all over, to settle our human disagreements.
Family
I was born in 1980, 18th of August, in a small post colonial town in Kenya, called Nanyuki. I am a third born in a family of five siblings. My late dad was called Mr. Leonard Mwebia, worked with the Kenya railways until his death, in 1997 when I was still a high school student. We were left with our mummy, whom by then was a primary school teacher in a village school in Kenya. She faced a lot of difficulties to raise us up since she did not have enough income to pay our school fees. She taught us how to do small peasant farming and selling our goods in the markets by hawking, so that we could help to raise our own school fees. I was able to complete my high school in 1999, but due to the challenges, I did not pass well to go to a government sponsored university for my further studies. My elder sister, now 33yrs was able to enroll in a nursing school in Kenya, and attained a diploma in nursing, and now married, working in a national referral hospital in Nairobi. Our elder brother, now 30yrs did a diploma in accounts, then went for a degree in Bachelors of commerce and now attained his masters in management, and now working in Mombasa. Myself, a third born, I stayed at home doing peasant farming and casual labours, untill 2005 June when I came to Uganda for cheaper education, compared to the expensive and corrupt systems of education in Kenya. I did enrolled nursing from Kampala university school of nursing, and then I joined Inernational Health Sciences University in 2009 August for bachelors of Science in Nursing. My younger sister, now 24yrs, qualified this month from university of Nairobi, medical school as a medical doctor. Our last born/ 5th born, is persuing a bachelors degree in buisness administration and Infomation technology in Jomo Kenyatta University of science and technogy. My brother has been helping me to pay for my studies, though it has not been easy for him too because he has his projects to fulfil too! I am single, and not sure when to get married because I have not yet achieved anything.
Music
My favorite music, is reggae music from selected musicians such as Luciano, Morgan Heritage, Beress Hamond, I wyne and a few others from Jamaica because most of their music is about the reality of troubles we face in the world such as hunger, war, corruption, lack of education and more of spiritual songs. Love songs, not so much, but I listen to Celine Dion, Peter Cetera, and Brian Adams for their soothing voices especially when I am tired.
Associations
I am a member of youth association in our church, and a member of movie club.
Interests
I am much interested in farming, because I did it and I know that agriculture is the back bone of our achievements. Agriculture feeds the whole nation, and the world. I love going out with friends because friends make me forget my problems. I love swimming and athletics. When not in sports, I watch world news, read books and news papers.
